- I'm a Portland, Oregon, resident and I've been painting since retirement from the navy in 1994. Thanks to an understanding wife with a great sense of humor, I've been chasing the dream of being an artist with all of it's joy, struggle, heartache and exhilaration instead of earning a living. My work can currently be found in the Rental/Sales Gallery of the Portland Art Museum and at Joanne Rollins Art of Framing, located in NW Portland.

Gary, nice to see you posting again! Hey, what's the story on the white on the canvas? Is that reflection, the canvas not covered up with paint all the way, or is it "distressed" like the boots themselves?
